Esther Okoronkwo has been nominated for the D1 Arkema league player of the month for September following her impressive performance for her club side, Saint Étienne.

The Nigerian forward scored a brace against Dijon in her club-side’s only win of September.

Esther will slug it out with the duo of Sara Däbritz and Marie-Antoinette Katoto of Paris Saint Germain for the award. Katoto scored three goals for Paris in the month of September while Däbritz scored two goals for the French capital club from the spot.

The Three-Woman shortlist was announced on the Ligue official handle on Twitter and Instagram on Tuesday.

The fans will have to cast their votes via the D1 arkema website to decide the winner of the award.

Esther made her debut for the Super Falcons in a 0-1 defeat to Jamaica in the WNT summer series game.
