Wenger’s appointment as manager of the Saudi-based club comes just days after Newcastle United was taken over.

The Magpies were sold to the PIF group, which is led by Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman.

Although the takeover has been criticized, the Premier League claims Newcastle has assured them that KSA would not interfere.

“The Premier League has now received legally binding assurances that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia will not control Newcastle United Football Club,” the Premier League released in a statement.
