Paris Saint Germain put Kharkiv Zhytlobud to the sword as they made it back-to-back wins at the start of a new Uefa Women’s Champions League campaign, coasting to a 5-0 victory at the Stade Jean Bouin in Paris.

The Parisians started well and needed only 16 minutes to create the first clear-cut opportunity, as Kharkiv Zhytlobud Turkish goalkeeper Gamze Yahman came out to stop Kadidiatou Diani who tried to flick the ball past her.

Huitema who was handed her first start of the season, scored from a tight angle in the 25th minute to open the scoring for the home side. Seven minutes later, she made it 2-0, heading in a rebound off the crossbar.

The Canadian Olympics gold medalist winner scored her third goal of the night after receiving a pass from Kadidiatou Diani in the box. 3-0 the first half ended.

Reacting after the match, Huitema said “It’s nice to be able to score three goals for PSG, this season I have like a monkey on my back, once you get one, more will come, it was really nice to be able to get my first and the second and third follows. I am hoping to continue with that and keep getting more and more as the season progresses.”

The 20-year-old forward said she’s not concerned about her lack of playtime, and that she will be ready whenever she’s being called upon.

“I feel good, I think that’s it’s a job as a player and a team that you go in any role that you’re given whether it’s on the bench or starting a match, I am always going to go in and do the best that I can for the team and score as many goals as possible”

Olle Nicole’s Women started the second half slowly but gradually grew into the game. Goals from Polish defender Dudek Paulina in the 59th minute and French Lea Khelifi in the 88th minute sealed the win for the country’s capital side.
