Oyo State has won her first gold medal at the ongoing National Youth Games in Ilorin, Kwara State.
Aserere Monsurat won gold medal in taekwondo -59kg female category to give the Pacesetter her first gold medal at the games.
Adegboyega Zurbur also won bonze medal in taekwondo -33kg male category.
Earlier, Jolade Adeyeri won bronze in swimming 50m breast stroke while in cycling Micheal Alabi and Charity Olawale won silver and bronze medal respectively.
Recalled that in day one of the games, Benjamin Uriel won Oyo State first medal winning bronze in the poomel category of gymnastics.
Oyo State now has one gold, one silver and three bronze medals, a total of five medals after day two of the event.
Meanwhile, the Chairman of the Oyo State Sports Council, Honorable Gbenga Adewusi also promised as a source of motivation monetary rewards for medalists. Five thousand naira for gold, three thousand naira for silver and two thousand five hundred bronze respectively.
Actions continue today in day three of the games with more medals expected from the Pacesetter State.
