Boston Celtics head coach Ime Udoka and players celebrates first Boston Celtics win of the season after rallying past Houston Rockets 107-97 away from home.
It’s also Ime Udoka’s first win as a coach, becoming the first Nigerian head coach to win a match in the NBA.
Though it wasn’t a pretty or easy win for Celtics, but nothing much to be worried about as the needful was done, which was to secure their first win and put them in a very good momentum ahead of other games.
Jayson Tatum led the scoring for his side with 31 points and added nine rebounds, to help his side avoid three successive defeats, after dropping first two games to New York Knicks and Toronto Raptors. 20 of his points came in the first half on 8-of-13 shooting from the field.
The Celtics had to work for their win after going eight points behind very early in the match. Grant Williams added 18 points off the bench, with Dennis Schroder and Al Horford (18 and 17 points, respectively), also contributing to the hugely important win.
Up next, Celtics will face Charlotte Hornets, who defeated championship favorites Brooklyn Nets on Sunday evening.
