Former Quimper player, Chima Moneke for the 3rd successive game scored double figures, as his 10 points 7 rebounds was key to Manresa’s Euro Champions league victory over Pinar Karsiyaka on Tuesday.

Manresa, who have won all games played so far in the Euro Champions League (3), finished the game 67-72.

Luke Maye led the aforementioned Spanish team with 14 points and 9 rebounds, just 1 rebound shy of recording a double double, was a perfect 7-of-7 from the line.

He also converted a clutch four-point play to cut Manresa’s deficit to 58-61 with 5:41 left in the game.

Akil Mitchell led Pinar Karsiyaka with a game-high 18 points and 9 rebounds, but it wasn’t enough to seal the game for a side who dropped their first game of the competition.

Both teams really struggled shooting from deep, as Karsiyaka went 4-of-22 and Manresa went 6-of-30.

Karsiyaka head coach Ufuk Sarica was not on the bench for the game due to a two-game suspension for repeated no-shows at postgame press conferences last season.

The two teams will play each other again next on Nov. 9 in Manresa, Spain.

In the Europe Balkan International Basketball League, Ike Iroegbu scored a record 3rd straight 16 points in Galil Elyon comprehensive 102-82 triumph over FMP Akademija.

Iroegbu prior to this game, had scored 16 points against Nes Ziona and Maccabi Rishon. He’s now Averaging 16 points per game in his last 3.

The win means, Galil Elyon has won their first two games, a record which put them on top of the log.
