With a game to go to the end of Swedish Damallsvenskan season, Linkopings FC. are now four points behind the Champions League spot after beating Hammarby 1-3 on Saturday, thanks to Kanu’s hat-trick.

The 24-year-old with a full spark had return from international duties with Nigeria as she led the African champions past Ghana to the second round of the Africa Women’s Cup of Nations qualifier thanks to her first leg brace in a 2-0 win in Lagos.

Uchenna Kanu scored two goals in the first half in the 10th and 40th minute respectively before completing her hat-trick in the 64th minute. Nina Jakobsson then score the consolatory goal for Hammarby.

Kanu who scored eight goals last season when she joined Linkopings has now scored 12 goals in 19 league games.

Linkopings FC despite the victory will still miss out on the UEFA Women’s Champions League with a game till the end of the season as it occupies the sixth position with 28 points from 21 games.

Linkopings FC will end the season with a clash against Joy Bokiri’s AIK on November 6.
