Paris Saint Germain came from behind to defeat the Ligue 1 Champions Lille 2-1 in a dramatic game at the Parc Des Princes on Friday night.
It was a game of two halves. Lille were the better side in the first 45 minutes and had the lead through the Canadian, Jonathan David in the 23rd minute. Burak Yılmaz played a perfect square ball to locate him in the box, and he calmly tapped it in to give the visitors a lead.
PSG started the second half better and came closer to equalize when Icardi, who came off the bench at half time to replace Messi, sent his header just over the crossbar after a sublime cross by Neymar.
The Parisian giants finally grabbed an equaliser in the 74th when Di Maria’s cross found Marquinhos who was waiting to side foot the ball into the back of the post, to get his first goal of the season.
With three minutes left before full-time, Ángel Di Maria combined with Neymar to send a forceful strike into the back of the net, snatching all three points from the hands of the “Les Douges” at death.
Reacting after the victory, Neymar said “It was a very difficult game. We had a good team in front of us. We fought until the end, we scored. Well done to everyone, I am happy.”
“We knew that this team were going to make it difficult for us. They are good, but we fought until the end and we found the goals. Good team effort. I am very happy for the victory.” He concluded.
PSG now sit top of the Ligue 1 table with 31 points and will travel to Bordeaux for their next Ligue 1 game.
