Barcelona striker Sergio Aguero has sent out a message to thank supporters for their good wishes after his recent hospitalisation.
The Argentina international was forced off in the first half of Barcelona’s 1-1 draw against Alaves in the Camp Nou after experiencing chest discomfort.
The 34-year-old was taken to hospital for cardiac tests and Barcelona subsequently confirmed that Aguero will miss the next three months.
The shock news saw players from around the world, supporters, and Aguero’s teammates all send messages of support to the striker.
“Thank you Culers for the love, I am ready for the recovery process” he said on Twitter.
News of Aguero’s condition has hit the Barcelona dressing room hard, according to Diario Sport. The Argentine had quickly “won the affection of the players” after arriving on a free transfer from Manchester City in the summer.
The 34-year-old is “appreciated and respected” by players and staff who had realized that an in-form Aguero would be a big asset for the Catalan giants.
