Malabo Kings of Equatorial Guinea had to rely on a late equaliser from Muriellynda Abossolo to book a qualification ticket to the semi-final of the maiden TotalEnergies CAF Women’s Champions League on Thursday.

Bassira Toure had given AS Mandé of Mali an early lead in the second minute of play before Muriellynda Abossolo’s equaliser for Malabo Kings FC with 10 minutes left on the clock.

Malabo Kings FC finished second I’m group A with four points and superior goal difference than the host, Wadi Degla FC.

Already qualified Hasaacas took on the hosts Wadi Degla of Egypt at the 30 June Stadium in a game that ended 2-2, to finish top of Group A with seven points.

Jasmin Zachwieja gave the host a ninth-minute lead before Faustina Aidoo’s header leveled the scoreline for the Ghanaians.

Noha Elsolh registered a brilliant left-footed free-kick to restore Wadi Degla FC’s lead. Another header from Veronica Appiah in the 49th minute made it 2-2.
