Olympique Lyon attacker Karl Toko Ekambi believes the Ligue 1 side have what it takes to win the UEFA Europa League this season.
Speaking to the club’s website OLPLAY, the Cameroonian striker is positive that despite having a mixed start to the season in the French league, the Ligue 1 seven times champions can do well in Europe.
“It’s a European competition, so there are always more spaces, it corresponds to my style of play. Today we have the quality to win this Europa League.
“The approach is different from a championship game. Before a European Cup match, we don’t need to talk to you for 10 minutes for you to be involved. In Ligue 1, we sometimes find ourselves facing grouped teams.
“We need to be more focused. Faced with a lower level team, we must increase our level of concentration and gain humility, because we are favorites of the meeting.” He said.
Karl has scored six goals in four Europa League games this season. Lyon have already secured their place in the knockout stages of the UEFA Europa League with four wins from four group stage matches so far.
Their next Europa League game is a trip to Brondby, Denmark on November 25.
