The Chief Onigbinde U-17 football competition has finally gotten a date for its grand finale.

The tournament which has been played amongst 32 teams at the Obafemi Awolowo Stadium, Ibadan suffered postponement from its initial October 31, 2021, final date because of logistics reasons.

After a meeting by the planning committee of the tourney, January 8, 2022, has been set for the final of the age-grade championship.

The final matches will see Brightville College trading tackles with Oyo Selected in the third-place match while the battle for the coveted first price will be between Young Stars of Ibadan and Alo Academy of Modakeke.

The closing ceremony will also witness awards for the tournament best player (MVP), highest goal scorer and best goalkeeper.

51 goals have so far been scored in the tournament with Brightville Gold Academy being the highest-scoring team with 12 goals while Oyo Selected and Young Stars have the meanest defence having not conceded a goal.
