After losing its last two games in all competitions –a 0-4 defeat to Chelsea in the WSL on November 14 followed by a 2-1 loss to Manchester United in the Continental Cup on November 17– Manchester City defeated Aston Villa 5-0 in the Barclays English FA Women’s Super League game on Saturday at the Academy Stadium, Manchester.

With nothing to separate the two sides at halftime,

Caroline Weir broke the deadlock in the 48th minute for Gareth Taylor’s side before Georgia Stanway doubled its lead three minutes later. Hayley Raso made it three for the Cityzens while Lauren Hemp increased their lead to four. Hayley Raso with her second goal of the game completed the rout.

Samantha Kerr scored three goals while Fran Kirby hits the centurion milestone as defending Champions, Chelsea FC Women thrashed Birmingham 5-0 in the Barclays English FA Women’s Super League (WSL) on Sunday at the Kingsmeadow, London.

As early as the fourth minute, Francesca Kirby opened the scoring for the Blues before Jessie Fleming set up Sam Kerr for Chelsea’s second goal in the 18th minute. Sam Kerr completed her hat-trick with two more goals in the 29th and 44th minutes respectively.
