PSG Forward Neymar Da Silva Santos Júnior, believes he will come back stronger after having been forced off against Saint Etienne in a Ligue One game on Sunday, at the Stade Geoffroy-Guichard in Saint Etienne.

The 29-year-old player twisted his left ankle, falling wrongly on the foot of Saint-Etienne’s defender Yvan Maçon in the 87th minutes.

Instantly, Neymar shouted and waved to his bench, as if he had understood the measure of his injury. After spending minutes on the ground, the Brazilian was finally unable to get up and was evacuated on a stretcher, in tears and holding his face.

“Unfortunately, these setbacks are a part of an athlete’s life. Now you have to raise your head and move on. I will come back better and stronger.” Neymar said after the game.

After the match, head coach Mauricio Pochettinho was asked about the extent of the injury. He said: “There is no more to say at the moment, except the pain he felt in the leg with his ankle that turned. We will have the exams tomorrow and we will see.”

“I hope that this is not a big problem and that he will quickly get back in action with the team. But the sight was not beautiful,” commented the Argentine technician.
