Nigeria and Watford Striker, Emmanuel Dennis has earned himself a Premier League Player Of The Month award nomination for November following a stellar performance during that period.
The former Brugge striker netted 2 goals and provided two assists for the Hornets in 3 games. Of these games includes their infamous 4-1 victory over Manchester United, a game in which he scored in and also provided two assists. That win would be their only win in November as they had lost by a lone goal to Arsenal before the United fixture and then lost 2-1 to Chelsea in their final fixture of the month, a game he restored parity for his side.
With 6 goals and 5 assists, the Nigeria star is head above his teammates on the Hornet’s performance list having joined in the summer on a permanent transfer.
Watford manager Claudio Ranieri heaped plaudits on his striker
“I’m not surprised because he [Dennis] is a very good player. He scored twice at the Bernabeu! Anyone who scores two at the Bernabeu is not a normal man.
“He has speed, intelligence, he is generous, and I like how he plays. He has to improve because he is young, but I have a very good relationship with him, and all of my players.”
The former Leicester boss said.
The 24-year-old has to fend off challenges from Liverpool pair of Trent Alexander-Arnold and Diogo Jota, Manchester City’s pair of Joao Cancelo and Bernardo Silva alongside Aston Villa’s John McGinn to win the player’s monthly gong.
If the Nigeria star wins the award, he will join the likes of Austin Okocha, Peter Odemwingie, Odion Ighalo, and Kelechi Iheanacho are the Nigerians who have previously won the monthly award in the past.
