These recent times have been feel good moments for the fans of Norwich City Football Club. Ever since the sacking of former manager Daniel Farke, shouts of joy have greeted the Carrow Road Stadium.

No doubts plaudits need to be heaped on new manager Dean Smith who joined the side having been sacked at another Premier League side Aston Villa this season.

It can be said that former manager Farke’s season opening games were baptisms of fire as his side faced the league heavyweights in their first 4 games which were a season opening 3:0 home loss to 2019 winners Liverpool, a 5:0 loss on the road to champions Manchester City, a 2-1 home loss to 2016 winners Leicester City, a 1-0 loss to Arsenal at the Emirates, infact fellow newly promoted side Watford compounded their woes having recorded a resounding 3-1 victory over them.

The Norwich board parted ways with the manager who had delivered them two Championship wins after he got their first win of the season against Brentford. After a host of names were considered, Dean Smith came top and was announced as the new manager of the side.

Dean Smith secured a win against Southampton in his first game in charge followed by back to back draws against Wolves and Watford.

The former Villa boss’ first major test will be a trip to The New Tottenham Hotspurs Stadium to face Spurs this weekend.

It is left to see if the rekindled flame of hooe in Norwich can really grow into a fire. Could Dean Smith really be the man to take Norwich to their promised land which is a safe spot from relegation? Time will tell
