2-time Confederations of African Football (CAF) Champions League winners Enyimba of Aba will today seek for a win on home soil to advance into the next round of the CAF Confederations Cup against Libyan side Al Ittihad.
The reverse fixture of the match was not played after Enyimba FC couldn’t face the Libyan side due to Covid-19 protocol as they were denied entry into Tunisia which was Al-Ittihad’s adopted home ground.
Senator Orji Uzor Kalu has however promised a sum of N1 Million if Enyimba secure the needed victory over their North-African counterparts on Sunday.
“Coming out victorious in the match is very important to us. I will congratulate the players with one million naira if they win the match.”
The Senator posted on his Facebook account on Saturday.
The game which is scheduled to kick-off at 3:30 pm Nigerian Time will be Finidi George’s third game in charge of the 8-time Nigerian champions and the tactician is yet to lose a single game.
Both sides have met once in a CAF Champions League 3rd round one-legged tie in 2011 where a 66th-minute penalty converted by Victor Barnabas gave the People’s Elephants the victory.
