A superb strike from Fred was enough to secure maximum points for Manchester United in Ralph Rangnick’s first game in charge of the Red Devils.

After a goalless first half, the Red Devils took the lead after Fred sent a curler past the flying hands of goalkeeper Vincente Guaita having received the ball from substitute Mason Greenwood just outside the box.

The 1-0 win over Palace means Rangnick has joined the string of Managers who got a win in their first game for Manchester United since the exit of Sir. Alex Ferguson as only Ryan Giggs managed the side without getting a win in his first league game in charge.

Reacting after the game, Bruno Fernandes said ; “The first 25 minutes was unbelievable, great tempo. We could have scored so many in the first half. We have to follow our new manager’s instructions. Now we go again to the Champions League.”

Manchester United gaffer, Ralf Rangnick believes the ‘Reds’ still have a lot to improve on.

“These are the things we must improve. We need to keep clean sheets. With just the one training session, I was really impressed. We did much better than expected.” He said to BBC after the game.

The clean sheet kept in the game means the 20-time Champions have kept their first clean sheet at Old Trafford since April.
