The Nigerian Womens Football League (NWFL) will have its new season kick-start on Wednesday evening.

NWFL Premiership this season is divided into two groups

Defending Champions is Rivers United

Group A.

Adamawa Queens, Confluence Queens, Edo Queens, Osun Babes, Pelican Stars, Naija Ratels and Nasarawa Amazons.

Group B.

Abia Angels, Bayelsa Queens, Delta Queens, Rivers Angels, FC Robo Queens, Royal Queens and Sunshine Queens.

This season’s curtain raiser will be a mouthwatering clash between long-term rivals Rivers Angels and Delta Queens. The Stephen Keshi Stadium, Asaba will be the ground where the two female warriors will battle. The Jewel of Rivers will be looking to bounce back from their poor performance on the continent during the inaugural CAF Women Champions League in Egypt.

Newcomers Naija Ratels will welcome Osun Babes to the Area 10 Sports Complex, Abuja. Having been promoted from the second division, they look to record their first ever top flight win against the ‘Omoluabi Queens’ who won their season opener last season.

Another top side to watch in the NWFL is FC Robo Queens who will be hosting Abia Angels at the Legacy Football Pitch, National Stadium, Lagos. The ‘Lagos Landladies’ have a good record against the side from Aba and hope to get one over them come Wednesday in Lagos.

Other games in the NWFL include;

Adamawa Queens Vs Edo Queens
Patini Stadium

Sunshine Queens Vs Bayelsa Queens
Akure Township Stadium

Confluence Queens Vs Pelican stars
Confluence Stadium Lokoja

Nassarawa Amazons and Royal Queens are on a bye
