A late goal from Chimy Avila saw Barcelona let go of their grip on 3 points away at Osasuna as they both settled for a 2-2 draw.

Having crashed out of the Champions league in the midweek at the hands of Bayern, Xavi’s men travelled to Osasuna without 7 players who were out injured.

Eventually youngsters Nico Gonzalez and Abdessamad Ezzalzouli gave the visitors the lead twice in the encounter.

The draw became Barca’s sixth of the season and the third consecutive game Xavi will fail to pick three points even though the Spaniard won two of his first three.

Barca had raced to an early lead 12 mins into the game through Nico González’ right footed shot from the centre of the box to the bottom right corner assisted by Gavi with a through ball.

The hosts levelled matters just two minutes later through David García whose header from the centre of the box travelled to the bottom left corner assisted by Jon Moncayola with a cross following a set piece situation.

In the second half Barca took lead again this time courtesy of Abdessamad Ezzalzouli’s right footed shot from very close range to the top left corner following a fast break.

Chimy Avila’s right footed shot from outside the box to the bottom left corner restored parity for Osasuna with just four minutes of regular time to play.
