After a busy day in Nyon, Switzerland, the 16 finest sides of Europe have now gotten to know their foe when the knockout rounds begin next year February.
Initially, When the UCL Round-of-16 draws were made, PSG were tied against Manchester United which would see Old foes in Messi and Ronaldo go at it once again. Unfortunately, the draws had to be declared null and void and redrawn due to a mistake in the arrangement process.
Manchester United were initially placed with Villarreal, however, this was not supposed to be as they were in the same group. They were then erroneously not included in the pot for the subsequent tie.

The draw was redone at 1500 hours (GMT). Reigning Champions Chelsea were with the lucky charm as they were drawn against Lille once again. Portuguese giants in Sporting Lisbon and Benfica were given tricky ties in Manchester City and Ajax respectively. Bayern Munich were drawn against round of 16 first timers – RB Salzburg.
Ralf Rangnick’s boys will play against
Diego Simeone’s Atletico Madrid, Cristiano Ronaldo will hope to shine again. Most successful European club Real Madrid were drawn against PSG as Lionel Messi will look to renew his old rivalry with the Spanish giants. Juventus were drawn against Villareal and lastly Liverpool would go against Inter Milan.
Dates for Champions League round of 16 fixtures.
The first legs of the heavyweight European encounters will take place on February 15th and 16th and also 22nd and 23rd in 2022.
Return dates will be held a few weeks later on March 8th and 9th and also on the 15th and 16th.
