The biggest game went down Uniport sports complex where Oghebebrume Ikhekua’s 15th minute strike delivered all three points to Rivers Angels against FC Robo Queens in a tight contest.
Last week’s hat-trick hero Mercy Omokwu continued her brilliant form in front of goal as she netted Confluence Queens’ only goal in their 1-0 win against Osun Babes at the stroke of halftime. Mercy leads the topscorers chart with four goals.
The biggest winners had to be Nassarawa Amazons who went for blood in their first game of the season (they were on bye last week) has they walloped Pelican Stars away from home 3-0. Dooshima Tarnum gave the Nassarawa based side the lead as early as the 2nd minute of the encounter before it was doubled five minutes past the hour mark by Aweda Titilayo. Ayatsea Hembefan compounded Pelican’s woes by capping off the win with a late effort in the 84th minute.
Newly promoted side Naija Ratels ran out of the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium, Benin with a point after scoring two late goals against Edo Queens in a 2-2 thriller.
The Abuja based side had fallen behind no thanks to Ezekiel Motunrayo who turned the ball into her own net scoring the league’s first own goal this season in the process. Yemisi Samuel added a second immediately after restart before two quick fire goals from Bankole Sofiat (82) and Olamide Augbe’s long range effort (89) secured them a point.
