Super Eagles and Napoli striker Victor Osihmen has declared himself available for selection ahead of the African Cup of Nations next month.

The no.9 announce this through his Twitter account saying he his ‘available for AFCON’ and the only reason he won’t be in Cameroon is if he won’t be among the selected players to take on the continent.

“I will be available for AFCON💯unless if am not among the players picked to represent NIGERIA.”

The former Lille and Charleroi hitman was injured last month and was initally declared to be out for three months having suffered an eye socket injury during Napoli’s 3-2 league loss to Inter Milan.

He was later announced to have passed fitness test and can play with an eye mask to protect the socket while it heals and the Nigerian international has been upbeat about his return ever since.

All fears of Osihmen missing out of the Afcon next month have now been allayed as the striker not only declared his readiness but also uploaded pictures of himself training with the mask and also shared a cartoon of himself as a ‘maskman’.

This news will no doubts be greeted with joy from the Eagles’ camp to its teeming fans who have lost a striker in Paul Onuachu to a four-week injury. Although the Genk man may still feature in Cameroon if chosen but what’s certain is that he is out of the first game against Egypt.

Osihmen has been firring from all cylinders this seaosn scoring nine goals in 17 appearances across all competitions for the Partenopei

Osihmen’s return will also bolster the attacking ranks of the Eagles and will provide interim coach Austin Eguavoen options while he names his Squad to take on the rest of the Continent in Cameroon next month.
