German top flight side Borrusia Dortmund have been rumoured to be interested in the signing of Borrusia Mochenbgladbach midfielder Denis Zakaria and Chelsea winger Hakim Ziyech.
According to German newspaper Bild, the Westfalenstadion based side are looking to bolster their ranks this summer with both signings although a January move for either can’t be ruled out.
The only twist to this affair, though is that these transfers can only become a reality if some players depart the side.
A host of names however have been linked with exits from the Marco Rose led side. Topping that list is goalkeeper Roman Bürki who is neither the first choice nor second choice having fallen down the pecking order behind Gregor Kobel and Marwin Hitz. BVB could also terminate the loan of Reinier six months earlier and than expected.
Getting both players off the payroll will pave way for the signing of Zakaria and Ziyech.
Dortmund will be look to sign Ziyech on a loan deal with an option to buy while Swiss international Zakaria can be signed for free in the summer but may cost the club around €8m if he is to join in January.
Dortmund aren’t the only ones interested in securing the signature of Zakaria as a number of Premier League sides have him lined up for a summer move while Ziyech has hinted at a possible Chelsea exit and has welcomed a return to Ajax.
