The Super Eagles of Nigeria will begin their preparations for the upcoming African Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Abuja.

The Minister of Youth and Sports Mr. Sunday Dare revealed this via a TVC Sports programme in Lagos on Tuesday.

The minister stated that a collaboration between the Federal Capital Territory and his ministry (Federal ministry of Youth and Sports) will be birthed to make provisions for a conducive environment to facilitate training and preparations for the continental assignment.

He further assured Nigerians that the side won’t dissapoint the nation come AFCON’21 in Cameroon and is optimistic they (Super Eagles) will go steps further than their 2019 outing.

“I have no doubt that with the quality of the personnel(both players and coaches)in our team, we can go all the way in Cameroon. We finished third in Egypt the last time out, we can do even better this time around. We just have to develop confidence in ourselves and do the hard work on the pitch,”

The MKO Abiola stadium has just been renovated and may be used during the camping.

The Super Eagles of Nigeria will be looking to better their 2019 outing in Egypt where they finished third having crashed out against Algeria in the Semis.
