Major League Soccer (MLS) side Toronto FC have prepared a €7million offer to secure the services of Napoli forward Lorenzo Insigne.

According to reports gathered by Italian media Corriere dello Sport, there is a reason to believe that the Napoli academy graduate is ‘tempted’ by a move to far away America.

This deal if finalised is most likely to come in by January transfer window and will see the winger join the club before the end of the season in Italy.

Insigne’s current deal with Napoli is set to run out by June 2022 and an extension agreement looks increasingly unlikely as the player is standing firm on wanting an increment in salary from the net €5 million per season which he currently earns while the Partenopei have not gone up from their offer of a four-year deal with €3.5 million net per season.

The former Cavese, Foggia and Pescara forward is been courted by several top sides in Europe including the likes of Inter Milan, AC Milan, Juventus, Bayern, Newcastle and Tottenham Hotspurs.

However, Insigne leaving Naples in January is unlikely as the Partenopei have let Kostas Manolas take a leave in January and won’t want to lose another big player before the end of a season which they are in its title race.

It is said that the Estadio Diego Armando Maradona based side are not even considering the idea of letting him go this January.

Insigne began his professional career with Napoli in 2009, making his Serie A debut in 2010, he enjoyed consecutive season loan spells at Cavese, Foggia and Pescara, before returning to Napoli in 2012.

The Euro 2020 winner with Italy has ever since established himself as one of Napoli’s favorites scoring 89 goals in 319 games for the club and has 4 goals with five assists in 15 Serie A games this season.
