Super Eagles and Napoli forward Victor Osimhen could make a return to action for Napoli this January with reports pointing towards the game against Bologna on the 16th as his return date.

The Nigerian international had initially sustained an eye socket injury during a Serie A match against Inter Milan in which they lost 3-2 last year, and was set to be sidelined for three months which would see him miss the Afcon for Nigeria.

But the player returned to training, although, with a face mask covering and was included in Nigeria’s squad for the continental assignment.

Recently, the player was announced to have tested positive for Covid-19 and the club subsequently ruled him out of participation at Afcon which led to his name being removed from the national roster.

However, the former Lille forward has now been speculated to make a possible return to action according to reports from Italian media outlet La Gazetta Dello Sport in January.

Having not fully recovered from the injury, the former Wolfsburg and Charleroi hitman will keep wearing the mask to prevent aggravating the injury.

Osimhen has scored nine goals in 14 games across all competitions this season for Napoli.
