The quest for a fourth AFCON title by the Nigeria Super Eagles has once again suffered a major setback.

It was revealed last week that the vastly experienced Leon Aderemi Balogun will miss the mundial and that brings an halt to the Oyibo Wall.

He was however replaced by West Bromwich Albion’s lanky defender Semilogo Ajayi.

Now, two prominent members of the Super Eagles defence are a doubt for the tournament. Chidozie Awaziem of Alayanspor is recuperating from an hamstring injury which has kept him out for about 3 weeks before the camp opened. And the minimum time range the injury takes to heal properly is six to seven weeks.

OwngoalNigeria however reported that Kenneth Omeruo of CD Leganes has tested positive for the popular Corona Virus.

The result isn’t yet confirmed as he has been given four days to test negative to the virus, else he’d be completely ruled out of the tournament.

If these two miss out, then the Super Eagles have only Willy and Semi Ajayi to count on in the center half position.

However they’d need to give late call ups to other center backs like Kelvin Akpoguma, Calvin Bassey and maybe a talented center half from the NPFL.
