In the latest CIES survey, the 23-year-old Nigerian striker came out on top of renowned football players.
According to the latest International Centre for Sports Studies- CIES report, Super Eagles attacker Victor Osimhen is the 77th most expensive player in the world.
The 23-year-old is ahead of superstars such as PSG’s record acquisition Neymar and Manchester City’s Kevin De Bruyne and Jack Grealish in the rankings.
After a tumultuous first season in which the former Under-17 star was limited to just ten goals in 30 appearances, Napoli signed Osimhen for a club-record fee two years ago, and after a tumultuous second season in which he was limited to just ten goals in 30 appearances, he has since progressed and is now an integral part of the Napoli setup.
The CIES report is collected twice a year, and Osimhen has been great for both club and nation in the previous six months.
In his past 22 appearances for club and country, he has scored 16 goals.
According to the CIES assessment, Osimhen is worth 56.7 million Euros (26.4 billion Naira), while Neymar, Grealish, and De Bruyne are worth 56.1, 55.5, and 54.6 million euros, respectively.
The CIES Football Observatory research team created an innovative econometric technique to calculate the players’ valuations.
Vinicius Junior, Phil Foden, Erling Haaland, Mason Greenwood, and Florian Wirtz, on the other hand, all finished in the top five.
Vinicius was the most expensive player in the world, with a price tag of 166.4 million Euros, followed by Foden (152.6 million), Haaland (142.5 million), Greenwood (133.9 million), and Bundesliga hero Wirtz (133 million).
