The Super Eagles of Nigeria have defeated Coton Sport Football Club de Garoua in a pre AFCON game played at the Adjo stadium.

The Eguavoen led side defeated the Cameroonian champions by 2 goals to nill courtesy of goals from Ahmed Musa and Samuel Chukwueze.

Austin Eguavoen lined his team up in a 4-2-3-1 formation with Maduka Okoye, Ola Aina, Zaidu Sanusi, Kenneth Omeruo, William Troost-Ekong, Wilfred Ndidi, Joe Aribo, Kelechi Iheanacho, Chidera Ejuke, Ahmed Musa and Taiwo Awoniyi starting the game.

Ahmed musa opened the scoring in the first half of the game as he profited from a defensive error.

He got subbed off after picking a knock and Everton forward, Alexander Iwobi, replaced him.

The team was however changed in the second period with Francis Uzoho, Olisa Ndah, Semi Ajayi,Chidioze Awaziem, Frank Onyeka, Kelechi Nwakali, Henry Onyekuru, Samuel Chukwueze, Peter Olayinka, Moses Simon and Sadiq Umar all getting minutes.

In the second half, Samuel Chukwueze doubled the lead for Nigeria after Moses Simon went on a mazy run before passing to the Villareal CF winger who finished the job.

This 2 nill win comes just four days away from their group D opening game against seven-time champions Egypt.
