The father of Serbian tennis star Novak Djokovic Srdjan Djokovic has hit out at the Australian authorities after they denied his son entry into their country.

He said during a protest in Serbia that his son is in the same category with other players but he was the only one denied entry.

“Novak and his team filed the same type of documents as those 25 other tennis players and they didn’t have any problems, just Novak. They wanted to humiliate him.”

“He’s not in detention, he’s in prison. They took all of his stuff, even his wallet. They left him with just a phone and no change of clothes, nowhere to wash his face. He’s in prison, our pride is a prisoner of these idiots.” Srdjan added.

Djokovic is yet to be vaccinated against Covid-19 and arrived Australia but was prevented to enter the country by the Australian Border Force because they ruled his Vaccine Exemption Visa card invalid.

The matter escalated to a diplomatic issue with the Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison saying their law is no respecter of persons.
