The Nigeria Women’s Football League board have announced the winners of the NWFL Player of the Month and Manager of the Month awards.

Confluence Queens’ forward Mercy Omokwu claimed the Player of the month award for December 2021 after a stellar performance last month.

The No.7 netted a hat-trick in the Kogi State based side’s 4-0 bashing of Pelican Stars and netted their only goal in another victory over Osun Babes.

She fended off challenges from Naija Ratels’ Olaide Adugbe who also scrored four goals last month and Abigail Sunday of Nassarawa Amazons who scored three goals.

In a similar development, Naija Ratels manager Bankole Olowookere won the Manager of the month award fending off challenges from Laidi Bashiru of Confluence Queens and Christopher Danjuma of Nassarawa Amazons.

Mr. Olowookere has guided newly promoted side Naija Ratels to a great start in the NWFL winning two games out of three and scoring a league-high nine goals.

There won’t be action in the NWFL this coming week and the only game we’ll be having next is Rivers Angels vs Abia Angels.
