West Londoners Chelsea Football Club triumphed 1-0 away at Tottenham Hotspurs to book a place in this years’ Carabao Cup final courtesy of Antonio Rudiger’s header.

Spurs needed to overturn a 2-0 first leg deficit but sank further after conceding an early header from Antonio Rudiger.

The German international netted the only goal of the game in the 18th minute of the game off a corner when Spurs goalie Pierluigi Gollini came out to punch but didn’t get there before centre-back who headed into the empty net.

Rudiger’s brilliant header made the difference against Spurs

Spurs could have found their way back into the game in te first half when hero Rudiger almost turned villain as he initially fouled Hojbjerg before the Spurs midfielder got to the penalty area, but the contact continued into the box and Hojbjerg went down. After a lengthy VAR check, it was overruled because the foul happened inches before the penalty area and Spurs got a free-kick instead.

Four minutes before the hour mark Spurs were denied another penalty as Chelsea shot-stopper Kepa came out to smother a through ball from Kane that was fed between the lines to Lucas Moura but the former Bilbao keeper got the ball first and also took a clean tackle without danger to the attacker.

Eight minutes later Tottenham got an equalizer from Harry Kane who pounced on goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga’s error but it was ruled offside as the Englishman wasn’t onside before scoring.

Having previously won last summer’s Champions League in his first season in charge, Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel has guided them to another cup final and he now becomes the first manager in Chelsea history to lead the Blues to the final of every major knockout competition, the FA Cup, League Cup, and Champions League/European Cup.

Chelsea will face the winner between Arsenal and Liverpool in the finals billed for February.
