Reigning Serie A champions Inter Milan have added the Italian Supercup to their cabinet after securing a narrow 2-1 extra-time victory over Juventus.

With the scores locked at 1-all, the game was set to go down to penalties but Chilean forward Alexis Sanchez drove the dagger deep into Juventus heart by netting a match-winning effort at end of extra-time.

The Old Lady had raced into the lead through American International Weston Mckennie but were pegged back by a Lautaro Martinez penalty kick.

The game them went on to extra time and Alexis Sanchez netted the winner having been assisted by fellow former Man United player Matteo Darmian.

The trophy becomes Simone Inzaghi’s first silverware with Inter since taking over from Antonio Conte but the former Lazio boss i no stranger to the title as he won it twice with Lazio beating Juve on both occasions.

It was a 10th consecutive appearance in the Supercopa for Juventus who defeated Atalanta last time out but their Milan opponents this year has proved a tough nut to crack.

The former Barcelona striker said he is a ‘monster’ if he is allowed to play by his manager

“I’m a caged lion, if they let me play I’m a monster.
Of course the manager chooses.” Sanchez told sport mediaset.

Sanchez joined Inter Milan from Manchester United initially on a loan deal in the summer of 2019 before making a permanent move the following year.
