Senegal and Olympique de Marseille midfielder, Papa Gueye, has been banned by the world football governing body (FIFA).

Pape Gueye has been suspended by FIFA from playing football as part of their investigation into his transfer in 2018 involving Watford and OM – currently at AFCON with Senegal, he now cannot take part in the competition until further notice.

The 22-year-old Franco-Sengalese moved to the Stade Velodrome from Le Harve where his senior career began. He was supposed to join Watford on a free transfer, but he pulled the plug on the transfer even after an agreement was reached, citing contractual irregularities for the refusal.

He has since played 44 games for the French giants.
