Super Eagles and Watford FC center half, William Troost-Ekong, has commended the support of Nigerian Football lovers.

The Dutch born defender has been a subject of criticism for his dip in form over the past weeks and was forced to delete all his social media handles over online abuse.

Currently on duty with Nigeria, he has impressed the football lovers with no blemish to his performance.

In an interview with OJB Sports, the Super Eagles assistant skipper revealed rhat he’s off social media for now.

“I really appreciate all the fans in Nigeria, I think I’ve loved all the support we’ve had. But I just wanna focus on my job and winning the AFCON so I’m not just interested in uploading pictures.

“My fans can watch me on the pitch and I hope to make them happy.”

The 28-year-old has 53 caps for the Super Eagles and has scored two goals since his debut.
