Senegal and Olympique de Marseille midfielder, Papa Gueye, was banned by the world football governing body (FIFA) last week.
Pape Gueye’s ban from football related activities by FIFA has now been suspended in other for him to conclude the AFCON 2021 with Senegal.
FIFA issued out a statement to the midfielder and his club saying that he should put football on hold as they embark on their investigation into his transfer in 2018 involving Watford and OM.
He’s currently at AFCON with Senegal and has now received the green light to take part in the competition.
The 22-year-old Franco-Sengalese moved to the Stade Velodrome from Le Harve where his senior career began.
He was supposed to join Watford on a free transfer, but he pulled the plug on the transfer even after an agreement was reached, citing contractual irregularities for the refusal.
He has just one cap for the Terenga Lions since making his debut on the 14th of November, 2021.
