Manchester United boss Ralf Rangnick has revealed that he has held clear-the-air talks with French forward Anthony Martial and that the situation with him is “now resolved”.

Rangnick had claimed the former Monaco man refused to turn up for selection in a press briefing after their 2-2 draw against Aston Villa in the league last weekend.

Not long after that Anthony Martial rebuffed the claims of the former Leipzig boss saying “I will never refuse to play a match for Man United”.

“I will never refuse to play a match for Manchester United. I’ve been here for 7 years and I never disrespected and will never disrespect the club and the fans”.

Although Rangnick failed to explain in-depth the details of the private conversation he had with the former Golden Boy award winner, he held on that the issue with the Frenchman has abated and could be available for selection on Wednesday when they play Brentford.

“I had a personal conversation with him on Sunday about what happened and how I saw the whole situation and the matter is now resolved,” said Rangnick, ahead of Wednesday’s trip to Brentford.

“He did not train yesterday and the day before yesterday, he will probably train today and after training I will decide if he is selected or not.” He added.

Man United are seventh on the log with 32 points and have two games to spare, one of which will be played on Wednesday when they take on 14th-placed Brentford in London.
