Swiss-born Nigerian female international, Oyinyechi Salome Zogg has signed a contract for German female outfit 1. FFC Turbine Potsdam.

The Brandenburg-based side announced that the Centre-back has put pen to paper for them through their website and their social media pages.

“1. FFC Turbine Potsdam have signed Onyinyechi Zogg, who previously played for French club ASJ Soyaux. The 24-year-old defender was previously at FC Zurich from 2019-2021 and has also been part of the Nigerian national team since 2021.”

Zogg was born to a Swiss father and a Nigerian mother. She made her senior debut for Nigeria on 10 June, 2021 in a 0-1 loss to Jamaica in a friendly game.

“I am delighted to be part of the Turbine Potsdam team with immediate effect. Now I want to integrate as quickly as possible and successfully contest the second half of the season with the team,” The Bern-born said about her new commitment at Turbine Potsdam.

Potsdam Head coach Sofian Chahed who was also happy about the addition said she will be a great reinforcement for the second half of the season:

“We are happy that we were able to win a new player in Ony, who has certainly gained some experience but is not yet at the end of her career. Also, we think she will do well here at Turbine. If she works the way we got to know her, she will hopefully be a reinforcement quite quickly in the course of the second half of the season.”
