Super Falcons forward Asisat Oshoala netted three times in the first half on Saturday afternoon for her club FC Barcelona Femeni in their 4-0 bashing of Real Betis women in a league game.
Oshoala is just shaking off a knee injury she suffered when she ruptured a ligament in her right knee back in a Womens Champions League clash against Hoffenheim early November last year.
The former Rivers Angels forward has just returned from the two-month layoff and she went on to bag the 99th, 100th and 101st goals of the Catalan female team in the current campaign.
Oshoala opened scoring in the 18th minute as she was faster than the opposition goalie, latching on from Caroline Graham’s low cross into the box.
18 minutes later she doubled their lead by putting the ball beyond the reach of Betis keeper after she recieved a squared ball from Lieke Martens who was released with an aerial ball.
Oshoala completed her hat-trick a minute shy of halftime as she pounced on a defensive error from two Betis defenders to put the ball to the far low left corner of the goal.
Oshoala’s hat-trick has seen her return back to the top of the topscorers chart having banged 15 goals in 12 games this season.
Ever since joining the Spanish side in 2019, Oshoala has won six major titles tasting success in the Primera Division back to back in 2019/20 and 2020/21 as well as lifting the UEFA Women’s Champions League in 2020/21 becoming the first African female to achieve the feat.
She also added the 2020 Supercopa Femenina to her trophy cabinet and the Copa de la Reina in 2020 and 2021.
The former Dalian Quainchang forward has been called up by Super Falcons coach Randy Waldrum ahead of the final 12th African Women’s Cup Of Nations qualifier against Cote d’Ivoire.
