FC Nantes and Cameroonian defender, Jean-Charles Castelletto, has assured his countrymen of the Indomitable Lion’s readiness to win AFCON 2021.

Jean-Charles reflecting on the team’s last game which was against Comoros, said they made the country proud.

“The victory was very important, we made the country proud, we had to redeem ourselves from the last match against Comoros that’s why the victory today was important.”

Jean-Charles Castelletto was born in France to Cameroonian parents but opted to represent the African nation. In respect to this, he had this to say;

“You have to move forward in your career. I knew it was complicated in the France team. So i headed to Cameroon, because I like it there. the atmosphere, the country. It was natural for me.”

He went further on to say the hosts are not ready to settle for anything lesser than gold as they’d try to win the mundial.

“We are going to try our very best to get to the finals, we’ve made it to the semifinals, now the objective is to get to the final and try to win the AFCON”

Cameroon remain unbeaten in this year’s AFCON with the team having four wins and a draw in five games so far.

They however face Egypt in the semifinal of the tournament on Thursday at the Paul Biya Stadium in Olembe.
