Randy Waldrum, the head coach of the Super Falcons of Nigeria, has dropped five players from his roster ahead of the 2022 African Women’s Championship qualifiers against Ivory Coast.
For the enticing games, 30 players were invited, but Waldrum has opted to cut the number of players in the squad camp by five.
Christy Ohiaeriaku, Miracle Joseph, Joy Duru, Ayomide Ojo, and Juliet Bassey were among the players who were cut.
Meanwhile, Asisat Oshoala, the squad captain, and Leicester City defender Ashleigh Plumtre have arrived in Abuja.
The two prominent players joined their teammates on Tuesday and they took the number of players in camp to 25.
Nigeria will face Ivory Coast in the first leg this weekend at the Moshood Abiola Stadium in Abuja, before traveling to Abidjan for the second game on February 23.
