Super Eagles defender, Valentine Ozorwanfor who collapsed twice on Saturday night in Charleroi’s home defeat to Royal Union Saint-Gilloise is in good condition, according to his club.

The two-cap Super Eagles Defender was inanimate for a long time on the field, following a punch he received on his face by Belgian forward, Dante Vanzeir. He was later taken off in added time of the first half and was replaced with Jackson Tchatchoua.

Valentine Ozornwafor left the field on a stretcher to the applause of the spectators of both teams.

Charleroi in a statement confirmed the defender had regained consciousness, but added he would be under the observation of the doctors.

“The first news about our defender Valentine Ozornwafor is reassuring,” the club wrote on Twitter. “After losing consciousness twice in the field, he is now conscious and will remain under observation, according to the concussion protocol.”

Ozornwafor, is currently on loan at the Belgian club from Turkish giants Galatasaray, he has struggled to break into “The Zebra’s” team and has only made seven appearances in what has been a disappointing loan spell so far.
