Following clear-the-air conversations with the head of the Nigeria Football Federation, Emmanuel Dennis could have a role in Nigeria’s World Cup play-off against Ghana next month (NFF).
Dennis was not selected for the recently concluded Africa Cup of Nations.
According to the NFF, Watford was “baring fangs” about the matter.
The forward had been left out of Nigeria’s team for the tournament because he had fallen out of favor under former coach Gernot Rohr.
Dennis was expected to join as a late call-up when Rohr was fired some weeks to AFCON, but he stayed to assist Watford in their relegation battle.
After meeting with NFF president Amaju Pinnick last week, the 24-year-old could return to international duty next month.
The talks were also attended by Nigeria’s team secretary, coach, and technical adviser.
Dennis was one of those who spoke with Pinnick, and it appears that this has cleared the way for him to return ahead of Nigeria’s World Cup play-off against Ghana next month.
