Brazilian players who plays in Shakhtar Donetsk and Dynamo Kyiv have requested for help from the Brazilian authorities for assistance to leave Ukraine, amidst the ongoing crisis in Ukraine.
Júnior Moraes in an audio message said “The situation is one of despair. I ask you to disclose this video so that it reaches the Government. Borders are closed, banks, there is no fuel, there will be a shortage of food, there is no money. We are gathered waiting for a plan to leave Ukraine.”
Moraes is a Brazilian-born Ukrainian professional footballer who plays for Ukrainian club Shakhtar Donetsk and the Ukraine national team as a forward.
The 34-year-old forward received Ukrainian citizenship in March 2019. He also posted on his Instagram account
“Brazilian players are struggling to leave Ukraine.”
Shakhtar Donetsk has over 10 Brazilian players in their current squad. Vinicius Tobias, Dodo, Ismaily, Marlon, Vitao, Alan Patrick, Antonio Marcos, Dentinho, Maycon, Fernando, Neres David, Pedrinho, and Tete all plies their trade in Shakhtar Donetsk.
Kyiv, Ukraine’s capital city club only have one Brazilian player, Vitinho.
As tensions between Russia and Ukraine
remain high, Germany, France, India and Austria have advise their citizens to
leave the former Soviet territory.
