Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp, has declared he’s optimistic that the Merseyside team will get it right against Chelsea in the Carabao Cup final scheduled for Sunday, at the Wembley stadium.

Thomas Tuchel and Jurgen Klopp have faced each other 17 times in management, with Klopp boasting nine victories, and Tuchel with three to his name. However, Klopp has so far been unable to get the better of Tuchel in England.

Tuchel has led Chelsea to one win and two draws against Liverpool since he arrived in England. Both Premier League encounters this season ended draw.

Klopp’s men last trip to Wembley for a domestic final was back in 2016 against Manchester City, with Manchester City winning 3–1 in a penalty shoot-out after the match had finished 1–1 after extra time.

“How many times have I been at Wembley and lost? Twice?. That’s good because usually I do it [win a trophy] when it’s for a third time. That is the story of my life. The Champions League for example, I lost twice and succeeded in the third and this happened a lot in my life as well so this is a good sign.

The Champions League winner with Liverpool, said he likes playing at the Wembley Stadium.

“I like the stadium – both times we performed pretty well, but both times we lost. I am more than happy to try it more often.”
