The San Siro giants are one of Italy’s wealthiest and most successful clubs, and they may try to entice one of Nigeria’s most talented young players to join them.

According to Notizie Milan, Super Eagles forward Samuel Chukwueze’s stint in Spain may come to an end this summer, as AC Milan is interested in signing him from Villarreal.

Since breaking into the Villarreal first squad following a spectacular outing for Nigeria at the 2015 FIFA U-17 World Cup, Chukwueze’s name has been circulating in the gossip mills.

The 22-year-old has long been a target for Chelsea and Liverpool in the English Premier League, with the Anfield giants reportedly having a €35 million bid for the flying winger rejected.

However, rumors of Chukwueze moving abroad has cooled recently after the ex-Golden Eaglets player sustained an injury that prevented him from playing in the Europa League final last year.

Chukwueze, on the other hand, has steadily returned to his best form this season, scoring five goals and contributing two assists in 21 games across all competitions.

In the Champions League last week, he was particularly impressive against Juventus, as Villarreal held the Old Ladies to a 1-1 draw in the first leg of their knockout tie.

And it’s possible that AC Milan has convinced Chukwueze that he can play in the Italian Serie A.

The transfer could be jeopardized if a transfer fee isn’t agreed upon, as Milan may not be willing to match Villarreal’s €25 million valuation of the fast attacker.
