Paris football club were dumped out of the Coupe de France on Saturday by their neighbours, Fleury 91 after a penalty shootout at the Stade Charlety.
The home side, Paris FC got off to a stunning start and came close to opening the scoring in the 11th minutes through the captain of the side, Gaëtane Thiney.
Nine minutes later, Gaëtane Thiney broke the deadlock after receiving a pass from Swiss Eseosa Aigbogun to give the home side the 1-0 lead.
Paris FC dominated for the rest of the first half, but struggled to carve out any clear-cut chances going into HT.
Fleury 91 started the second half better than how they ended the first half, and got their just reward on the hour mark when Polish international, Ewelina Kamczyk took advantage of a defensive blunder in the defense of the Paris FC to equalize in the 59th minute.
The game ended 1-1 and went straight to penalty shootout.
Chiamaka saved a penalty but Julie Soyer and Daphné Corboz’s miss were fatal as PFC got knocked out by 4-3.
This is the first time the Ile de France region team, Fleury 91 qualify for the semifinals of the Coupe de France.
The draw for the semi-finals of the 2021-2022 Women’s French Cup will take place on Monday, March 7, 2022 at the FFF headquarters in Paris. The matches will be played on Sunday, March 27.
