Paris Saint Germain are sweating over the fitness of Kylian Mbappé ahead of the Champions League return leg against Madrid, after the midfielder suffered a knock in training on Monday, according to multiple reports.

Mbappé’s moment of magic gave the French capital club a deserved win against Real Madrid at the Parc des Princes last month.

With Real Madrid aiming to overturn the 1-0 deficit, the Spanish capital club play host to PSG in the second leg of their Champions League last-16 tie at the Bernabeu on Wednesday night.

Preparing for the crucial game at PSG’s training ground Ooredeo, in Saint Germain, a suburb of Paris, it was reported that Mbappe picked a knock and is expected to undergo medical exams to determine his fitness.

It would be a huge blow if the 23-year-old couldn’t make it to Saintago Bernabeu. He was instrumental in the first leg.

The French forward’s current deal at PSG runs out in June, and it is widely expected that he will move to Real Madrid on a free transfer in the summer, but PSG are not willing to give up hope of tying down Mbappe for a few more years.

PSG are willing to pay Kylian Mbappe 50 million euros per year in wages according to Le Parisien.
