Barcelona have extended Asisat Oshoala’s contract to 2024, ending speculation over her future at the club.

The captain of the Super Falcons of Nigeria has been in the radar of Manchester United, with her previous contract coming to an end in the summer.

“I’m very happy to continue in the best team in the world. Not only because of their football, you look outside the field of play, and it is because of how they treat the players to keep improving, Oshoala said to Barcelona Femeni.

She scored scored 20 goals in her 19 appearances for Barcelona last season.

“I’m a striker and I want to continue scoring more goals. Love it. The goal is to keep growing and be happy.” The record four-time African Player Of The Year said.

The Lagos born striker joined the Spanish side in January 2019, and has scored 80 goals in 101 appearances – a club record.

She became the first African player to win the European Women’s Champions League, when Barcelona blew Chelsea away 4-0 to win their first Women’s Champions League title in the Swedish city of Gothenburg last year.
